Winter Olympics in GermanDo you want to follow the Winter Olympics with German commentaries? Then you need to watch the Winter Olympics on either ZDF or ARD/DasErste. These channels have the rights to broadcast from the Winter Olympics in Germany.

Luckily both channels have great websites where you can watch all sorts of streams online. We do not know exactly what this will look like yet, but we will know as soon as the Winter Olympics start, but we guess that all content broadcasted on ZDF and ARD from the Winter Olympics will be available on their websites with their live streams. That means that you can watch everything from Sochi live on zdf.de and ard.de.

However, there will be a problem if you try to watch these live streams from outside Germany, because they will be blocked by a geographical block, meaning that the content will only be available to those with a German IP address, meaning that they are actually located in Germany.

That is sad, especially if you are located outside Germany, but luckily it can be fixed easily using a VPN service. Our favorite VPN provider when in need of a German IP address is HideMyAss. They have a great service and all you need to do is to sign up for their VPN product, download their client and connect to a server in Germany. Once this is done you restart your browser and you now surf with a German IP address, which again means that you can now watch live streams and other streams available on both ARD and ZDF in Germany!

So, that is the way to watch from the Winter Olympics in Germany online. It is easy and cool, and we hope you will enjoy it!
